Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
The short version: Lucky Shelf has no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. Your reading lists stay on your own device. The only time I get any information from you is when you choose to send it, like joining the waitlist or sending feedback.
Who I am and what this covers
Lucky Shelf is made by one independent developer. This policy covers the Lucky Shelf app (on Google Play and at app.luckyshelf.app) and the luckyshelf.app website. When I say “I” or “me,” that’s who I mean.
In the app
Your lists and settings stay on your device
Your Want to read, Reading, and Finished lists, your roll history, and your settings are saved in your device’s local storage. They aren’t sent to me or to anyone else, and I can’t see them.
Backup codes
The backup code is created on your device and contains a copy of your lists. It only goes where you paste it. I never receive it unless you choose to send it to me.
Shake to roll
If shake to roll is on, the app reads your phone’s motion sensor to notice a shake. That happens on your device only. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
Feedback
If you use the Feedback button and press Send, the app sends the type of feedback, your message, and your email address only if you choose to give it. It’s delivered to my inbox through Web3Forms, the same service the website’s feedback form uses. I use it to fix problems, improve the app, and reply if you asked me to. Nothing is sent until you press Send.
Fonts
The app’s typefaces are stored in the app itself, so it doesn’t contact any font service.
On the website
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, I collect your email address. It’s stored in a Google Form in my Google account, and I use it only to tell you about Lucky Shelf’s launch and major updates. You can opt out anytime by replying to any of those emails or writing to me, and I’ll remove you.
The feedback form
The website’s feedback form collects the type of feedback, your message, and your email address only if you choose to give it. It’s delivered to my inbox through Web3Forms. I use it to fix problems, improve the app, and reply if you asked me to.
One small setting in your browser
After you join the waitlist, the site saves a single setting in your browser so the button can show you’re already on the list. It isn’t used for anything else.
Hosting
The app and website are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. I don’t add analytics or tracking scripts to either one.
What I don’t do
- No user accounts or sign-ins.
- No ads, analytics, or tracking tools.
- No access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or files.
- I don’t sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
Links to other sites
The app links to other sites, including Amazon and Goodreads for finding books, Ko-fi for tips, and Lucky Shelf’s social media accounts. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and what you do there is covered by their policies, not this one. The Amazon links are not affiliate links. If that changes, I’ll update this policy first.
Children
Lucky Shelf isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Keeping and deleting your information
- Your lists: to delete them, clear the app’s storage or uninstall it. On the web, clear the site’s data in your browser settings.
- Waitlist and feedback emails: I keep these only as long as they’re useful for running Lucky Shelf. Email me anytime and I’ll delete yours.
Changes to this policy
If I change how Lucky Shelf handles information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
